The Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) develops and strengthens the leadership of Malaysia’s higher education. This is one of the core of the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSPTN) launched in 2007, subsequently the Malaysian Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025 which clearly states the need to develop current and future higher education leadership talents.
The design of AKEPT building is using the concept of 'top‘ derived from GASING which is a traditional MALAY game. The top element also represents the vernacular elements adapted from the local architecture. In this design, this element is also used to introduce local contemporary motif. The central motif used the spinning round and stabilizing element in their surroundings. The design is also customized with the Ministry of Higher Education’s logo.
